We have loads of topics about music, video, and books that we've read.
But none of them actually offer a definitive yes or no response as to whether you endorse that piece of entertainment/experience as something to be done by others.
So, I think this should be our recommendation topic.

"Ashes of time redux" is a great movie by Won Kar-wai. It's not the best movie to watch for an understandable plot. But, the absolutely gorgeous sword fighting practices and fights in the movie make up for it. The movie also likes to have a lot of color coordination that also gives it a nice sheen.
The setting is also something that I've seen before. A dystopian wushu desert setting.
Overall, it's a movie that makes you want more of it just because it's friggin beautiful and badass in its action sequences. The plot is not at all linear and at times so foggy, it seems as though Kar-Wai might have just pulled it out of his ass but if you watch the entire flick, it'll make sense (kinda...).
Example of awesomeness: A cameo by some unknown legendary swordsman who practiced against her own reflection because there was no one else who was good enough to practice against her. *cue awesome montage of her practicing her skills while wushu-walking on water*

The Marx Brothers.
This should be obvious, but I am continually astounded how many people haven't seen the original Marx Brothers films. Animal Crackers, Duck Soup, Horse Feathers, Room Service, Coconuts and a Night at the Opera are all jaw-achingly hilarious despite zaniness in place of plot, some dated references and the occasional inclusion of boring musical interludes or meaningless romance subplots with the straight man. Most of the other Marx brothers films are at least worth watching, if not as funny as those.

"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
In case you haven't already, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. It's a great fic formed on the supposition that Petunia married a scientist instead of Vernon.
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.
I echo Josh's suggestion and also recommend any movie with Buster Keaton in it. His silent comedies go the exact opposite way to Chaplin. Chaplin worked with small things, hats, canes, edible shoes. Keaton did the same with trains, tunnels, etc..
But, "The general", "Steamboat bill jr." and "The chemist" are some of the funniest movies ever made.
Prak: I think I was linked to it before but never read it. The first chapter was pretty funny. Thanks.

Not a problem. It has some pretty hilarious moments in it, and is quite well written to boot.
